GCDCR Representative Meets President of Nigeria Bola Ahmed Tinubu During Inauguration of Pope Leo XIV

During the inauguration ceremony of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican, Mr. Mykola Volkivskyi, representing the Geneva Center for Diplomacy and Conflict Resolution (GCDCR), had the honor of briefly meeting the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, H.E. Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a short but meaningful exchange, Mr. Volkivskyi introduced the mission of GCDCR and expressed interest in future engagement with Nigerian institutions. The conversation touched on the importance of Africa in global peacebuilding and the potential for deeper cooperation in areas such as conflict resolution, youth leadership, and multilateral diplomacy.

President Tinubu’s presence at the Vatican highlighted Nigeria’s significant role on the global stage, particularly in interfaith dialogue and international partnership.

“Africa is not only the future—it is the present. From conflict mediation to youth empowerment and institutional development, the continent offers vital insights and partnerships. GCDCR is committed to building a constructive and impactful relationship with Nigeria,” stated Mr. Volkivskyi following the meeting.
